Passing Moments

By Kelsey Soto

It was then that I knew you.

Head down, hiding those clear blue eyes.

Those eyes moved my soul.

Those hands shaking,

Your focus unwavering.

My eyes always watching you.

In passing my glance was quick.

Yours was quicker.

I never knew that your eyes were watching.

Every day I believed you were unattainable.

And every day I wanted to be by your side.

If only for a moment.

I didn’t know you thought the same.

It doesn’t matter how many days have passed.

We’re finally together.

Finally, able to stroke your blonde curls.

Able to kiss your lips, neck, and chest.

To tell you I love you.

There isn’t silence anymore.

I hear you say I love you.

My heart lightens and I know I want to stay with you.
